Visit Laredo: Pallets And Things

Recycled materials have their place in the landscape, but one has to pay attention to detail.  A lack of consistency and design comes across as clutter and the better half of the household will surely have something to say about it.

For a more polished version of Laredo, visit the city's version of our town.

___Pallets are the foundation od Laredo's architecture, the LEA, the New Hospitals, Mall de Norte, and the Civic Center are all built on top of Pallets.

Quality yobs skipping Laredo yet again. What else is new.

I like Mayor Papa's argument that the Town Center will create 1,000 (LOW WAGE!!!!! *cough cough*) jobs.
But he will still listen to the pro wetlands crowd.

cmon KR,, post a story on a government hand out program...so we can get the anti -welfare state folks all
riled up

Yeah, post on city politics! Or, better yet, what is your stance on broad social issues such as abortion and gun control! Come on, man!

Beginning to smell like BT Blues blog , yeah Key Laredo or any USA city has more interesting issues than the dumps. Up here in Houston I provide the same dumpy pictures of trash but there is a ton more topics to engage in.

I read a story on some state wanting to drug test recipients of unemployment benefits. If there's a suspicion of drug abuse, then sure.

I am pro choice. And I don't mind my tax dollars going to women wanting to have abortions.

I am FOR gun control. Don't confuse that with taking peoples' guns away.

I'm debating whether or not to focus on politics anymore. I'm fuckin' tired of the local scene. And recent events have just discouraged me from posting on happenings, at the city level especially.

Take, for instance, the Mami Chulas move the city took recently. Establishments are now branded sexually-oriented establishments and they have to move to an M1 district. Why couldn't they just do that from the start?

The wetland matter. This city is at a loss for public green spaces. The wetland could include part of the Chacon Hike & Bike Trail that some day will come. But no, the mayor and city council act all defensive and evasive on what exactly to do with the area.

The construction of the library in south Laredo: still on hold.

The affidavits produced by council, the mayor, and city manager to defend Eduardo Garza

At the county, Judge Danny Valdez resisting an ethics committee from taking shape.

Oh, I almost forgot. Charlie San Miguel and the tale of his two sons hired by the city. The lawsuit against him (and the rest) was dropped, but nepotism still exists. I text him for an interview and there's no response.

I've had it. And that's why I might just post a random picture each week with a short description from now on.

Whoa man. o_O

Well whatever you decide to do, it's been great having you around as one of the few voices of reason on all things Laredo. Chin up, senor.

Black said...

Nothing will happen unless we have people pushing against the corruption. Keep being that voice of reason Quiroz. No one else is.

Anonymous said...

Exactly the voice of reason ! There is no magical formula to fight corruption but at the polls of course there is a lot of voter apathy in Laredo and throughout the rest of the country ! As stated by anon you posted more issues than the EMPTY LMT , which is just a social daily for the elite , that has no real topics to report . Key if you are tired then join the rest of the pathetic voters who chose to do NADA and go to see the WBCA parade as the rest of Piped Pipered rats of Laredo follow !

people will not be means tested for welfare, but they will be means tested for socialist insecurity so you had better start saving in your pension or IRA

people who claim that it is ok for an unconstitutional
government payment to be made with their tax dollars
do not really pay much in taxes

local government elected officials from city to county to
school districts are far from being the best and the
brightest. most are political hacks employed by another public sector (gubmint) agency.

people who complain and protest about the best use
of other people's private property usually do not
OWN anything themselves.

south Laredo people can not read or write.. and the
north library has very few books. why bother.

Laredo offers GREAT economic opportunity because
the majority are too stupid or too lazy to see it.

More for those who do want to work

Good luck "Key Rose". It was great discussing topics with people "bloggers" who do not start a sentence with, "es que" or "pos tu sabes". I try to surround myself with beautiful humans with IQ’s higher than that of a turnip.

It is always refreshing people effectively communicating in the English or Spanish languages. I'm not a fan of spanglish and often find myself seizing the opportunity to literarily berate the "I want to make heem a baby" populous.

Best wishes to you and yours in future endeavors.

Thank you all for the input.

Comments made by several U.S. senators recently have caught my attention.

Also, the permit for the coal mine in Eagle Pass is worth mentioning.

I'll try to update the blog today or tomorrow.

Second what Rosse posted.

Plus, I'm sure someone will piss you off enough to seek the truth about them lol.
