Mayor Plans For Washington

In what might be his last KGNS in-studio interview of 2012, Mayor Raul Salinas went on t.v. to say nothing about a lot of things.  A more pressing matter on his mind is that the Cowboys get a win this weekend.

He mentions going back to Washington to speak to our representatives.  Can't he just pick up the phone?  Sit and watch for three minutes, if you like.

How about he stays here and lectures the Laredo PD and FD on fireworks safety....chingos of booms and crackles were heard in the wee hours of christmas morning in my neighborhood. I look out y es el amistoso vecino bombero encendiendo fuegos artificiales. ni modo de llamar la policia pues por su puesto que yes! que they're busy popping their own cuetes.

Today, Friday, El Manana newspaper is reporting H. Cuellar recommended Salinas as US Ambassador to Mexico. According to the article, Salinas is to start Jan 2013. Why has no local news outlet reported on this?

Would his health be up to par to handle the duties of ambassador?

Salinas: "the Zetas can have all the assault weapons they want but I Do Not want Laredoans with assault weapons!"

@Anon 8PM Post- NPR reported otherwise a few weeks ago. It is Cuellar himself who is in the running for Ambassador to Mexico.

It would be good riddance. We don't need this guy (or any politico from Laredo for that matter). We can do better than giant checks, or guys who seemingly work for you and I at the speed of light come election time.

Let them both go to Mexico as long as they take their dirty ways with them! Laredo needs new blood not political regurgitation.
