On election night, the media went out and got some feedback from the candidates and their respective showing. There were a couple of incumbents that put out a cringe-worthy statement. One that my better half and I heckled from the comfort of our own home was that of Justice of the Peace Veliz:
We have, we ahhh... we received a lot, ah, support from the commenity. Right now, we just waiting for the... final result. Ah...we are very confident that we, we received the caahh...da support the... South Laredo. But, ah, we're here 'cause waiting for the result, the final result.

Oh, dear Christ!!!

That is my precinct. I think that video is tacky. Veliz can't speak worth a damn. God help us. That is all.

It's the qualifications for JP all that is required is to be 18 years of age or older and live in the precinct of the slot. Having knowledge of the law system, or education is not required .

In other words, Mr. Veliz, to sum up and just to be clear, you're waiting for the final result.

Concise, and to the point.

This type of video is the reason LaSanbe exists.

But inquiring minds want to know: how did the Rotary Club gig go?

It went OK, I guess. I really don't remember half of what I talked about. And I'm sure everybody could sense my nervousness up at the podium.

I felt a little more relaxed once the questions started coming in. That gave me a sense that some of the club members were interested in what I was presenting.

webb county politics has always been for the needy,
the uneducated, the welfare class, and most of all
the UNEMPLOYABLE,, the redistribution of 60 million
dollars a year to support this disgraceful mess
of a so called government contributes to the never ending cycle of poverty and dependence that has
identified the Mexican border area for generations.

Rick78 is right, I was stunned when I learned that in my State Government course, then everything made sense. On the other hand, Danny Dominguez I believe is an educated individual. Someone correct me if i'm wrong but I believe he has a B.S. in C.J. and a Master's in Public Admin. I've dealt with him before all this, and he is a very approachable guy.
