Greetings. Piper here fully recovered from Oscar night. Now I'm here with some rambling thoughts.
My mom recently received a Nielsen's TV Diary. If you've never gotten one, it's a booklet where you keep track of your TV viewing for one week before mailing it back.
They will call you ahead of time to make sure you agree with filling in one diary per TV in the house, and that you agree to return it after the week is over. They pay you a small fee for your troubles, and the diary is pre-stamped so all you have to do is drop it in the mail.
My question is "Where is MY diary?" I would love to add to the measurement of the ratings of my favorite shows. And of course I would include all that pop-culture television that makes life complete. :)
For example, for tonight, my diary would read:
7:00-8:00 pm KSAT(ABC) Ch. 9> "Lost" (Enhanced re-play)
8:00-9:00 pm KSAT(ABC) Ch. 9> "Lost" (New episode)
9:00-10:00pm KVTV(CBS) Ch. 6> "The Good Wife"
Did I mention LOST is tonight?

___borrow the booklet you Mother has, tell her it is "lost" and you fill it in with your somewhat shallow list of TV shows. sorry for my critical view but there is much more worthwhile stuff out there
Yeah, like reruns of Barney Miller on WGN.
haha, I rec'd and dutifully filled out my diary a few months ago. It was something along the lines of:
Sunday: NFL football from 12 noon until 10:30 pm (pregame between end of afternoon games and start of SNF)
Monday: Letterman and Ferguson
Tuesday: blank
Wednesday: blank
Thursday: Pro8News, Letterman and Ferguson
Friday & Saturday: nada
3 step process:
1) Steal your mom's diary
2) Mail it in
3) Do not apologize for above actions
My favorite on those diaries is the section that you can check off that says:
"TV is on but no one is watching"
Ha! Which tends to happen a lot at my home.
I miss the NFL!
