It's upsetting to watch people driving ahead of me throwing trash out their window. It's a lack of respect and doesn't help the community's effort in keeping our streets clean. I believe we all have a responsibility for keeping our town debris free.
But how can we do our part when resources and time are lacking? If I see a couch, or some tires, on the side of the road, I can't go drop them off at the recycling center.
And I really think the city should discourage people from bagging lawn clippings and leaves. This refuse should be recycled back into the community, perhaps into each neighborhood's parks.

As far for the leaves can be mowed instead of bagging thus providing lawn feed.
Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the bagged lawn refuse go to the grinder for the Free Mulch piles?
or do they come solely from Christmas trees every year?
Just asking because I've seen twigs and stuff in mulch I pick up that don't come from no pine tree.
The mulch that's provided from the city (at no charge) is made up of tree branches that go through a chipper.
It might contain a small amount of leaves.
I think the bagged leaves and grass go straight to the land fill.
As rick said, I chop the leaves with my lawnmower, and never bag anything. Keep it close to home.
Hmm, didn't know bags of lawn clippings and tree leaves end up in the landfill. You would think it wouldn't be that difficult to get those in the mulch piles as well.
