School Classification

LISD Athletic Director Rene Ramirez clarifies the reason why Nixon and Cigarroa were classified as 4A.
In 2008, two of his district's three schools - Nixon and Cigarroa - did not
check off the boxes on paperwork to declare their preference to remain in Class
5A.
Traveling to the valley, San Antonio, and Corpus Christi was cited as a burden.
it cost the district approximately $800-1200 per bus trip

Laredo schools will now belong to one big happy family, thanks to the new realignment.

The sad thing is that even with 7 out of 10 teams being from Laredo, we probably will not have a district champ in football from Laredo.

___small mistake made two years ago by the "rookie" AD and the two "rookie" principals who cost the District Mega-bucks in travel and a lot of loss sleep and class time for the kids . . . but they are still there, making mistakes

Anonymous, who were the principals? Are they still there? I don't think either of the two is still a principal at their respective schools, but I could be wrong. Please enlighten me.

I can sleep better knowing this.

I joke with my buddies that the AD must have some good video of some school board member doing something embarrassing - hell, we've been joking about that since he was coach at La Martin.
