Judge's Race

I wasn't going to place much attention on this race but I seem to have a much better opinion of the candidates. I didn't like Ms. Arce's posture, and she came across as an instigator. Ms. Notzon looked prepared and poised. Mr. Dominguez seemed tentative. Check it out.

Well, that was in the middle of all the "say something bad about Judge Vasquez" questions that Pro 8 decided to ask. That's right up there with asking Wawi if she thinks Valdez is a better candidate than her nephew. Too bad Pro 8 news couldn't come up with better questions than that.

But they are correct in that Notzon is being supported by the Partido Viejo & that she is a Republican.

Could care less about party affiliations DG. It's like saying Democratic rule in Laredo has bought solutions and progress(it hasn't). Notzon looked prepared and ready to take charge. Arce reading off a piece of paper, and Dominguez wrangling up the past is an all too familiar site I am not willing to see or listen to. I agree though, they need to ask better questions. Are they scheduled for another debate?

This was the only debate for them, as far as I know. I'm not sure if the Kiwanis or the Rotary Club are going to host a debate for them.

I'm torn between the two female candidates. I'll wait to see who the LMT endorses, and then pick against them.

My wife told me that some candidates were at the LMT offices the other day, being called in for questioning. We'll see who they pick.

et tu rosse,, KUDOS, I agree about party
affiliations in fact I think Laredo would BENEFIT if
GOP was represented on local ballots. trouble is most
repubs here in Laredo are business people and are too
busy or fed up with local politics to get involved
even though they pay most of the taxes that support
local governments... remember you don't get a tax bill
if you don't own anything. BUT IRONICALLY , THE MOST VOCAL, PAY THE LEAST

The other debate was at LCC on Wednesday, I think.

And running as a D when you're really an R has less to do with party affiliation & more about being honest about who you really are. But if you want the Partido Viejo to have another judgeship, don't complain that nothing gets done in Laredo because of the Democrats.
